Requirements:

Class A license preferred (no less than a class B)

experience with refrigerated trucks

The tractors are automatic transmission, but should they be out of service, the smaller trucks are manual transmission so ability to drive manual is a must.

Driver & Shipping & Receiving Team Member (part-time) 

Requirements:

On most days, driving time is approximately 3 hours. Afterwards, warehouse duties include loading and unloading trucks, organizing products and pallets, pulling orders, record-keeping, etc.

Urban Farmer (part-time or full-time)

Requirements:

must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 25 lbs.

must be able to work in 50-70 degree temperatures

available to work weekends if needed

Team Leader (part-time or full-time)

Requirements:

must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 50 lbs.

able to communicate verbally and in writing in English; Spanish or Haitian Creole a plus

able to organize and lead a team of urban farmers

able to adhere to procedures

able to use equipment and troubleshoot when needed

available to work weekends

some supervisory experience

Maintenance Technician

Requirements:

Perform work in our indoor farm including: assembling, installing, and maintaining equipment; repairing machines; working with technical and electronic equipment, etc. Duties may involve pipe fitting, welding, carpentry, repairing and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment, and general repairs and upkeep in our facility. One of the major roles for this position is to troubleshoot machines. The ideal candidate has at least 12 months of related work experience and/or related education. Must be able to work safely and independently, using common sense and good judgement, to prioritize and complete work assignments accurately and efficiently. 

 

must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 50 lbs.

some supervisory experience

THIS POSITION CAN BE FILLED BY EITHER ONE (1) FULL-TIME PERSON OR TWO (2) PART-TIME PERSONS, SUCH AS RETIREES WITH RELATED EXPERIENCE. ENGLISH IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO READ SCHEMATICS AND DATA RELEVANT TO OUR MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT.

Maintenance Assistant
Intern (multiple positions available)

Requirements:

Assistant Director of Operations

Requirements:

English (spoken and written) and Spanish (spoken)

Experience in management, preferably in a food manufacturing business.

This position is multi-faceted. It is to assist with the company’s daily operations by overseeing production, warehousing and dispatching. The Assistant Director of Operations is to report to the Director of Operations and coordinate among department supervisors, team leaders and their team members. This person is cross-trained in Food Safety / Quality Assurance, Bean Sprouts, Green Sprouts, and Shipping and Receiving, and has some knowledge in Maintenance. He or she is to monitor that instructions and procedures are carried out, whether it be planting numbers, packing numbers, harvesting, cleaning, orders to be pulled, raw materials and finished products inventory, etc. Instructions are to be given to staff in order to coordinate better flow of operations.

 

Much of the time is spent on the warehouse floor. Office administrative tasks include: inventory management of both finished products and raw materials, purchasing, scheduling staff, filling out logs and reports, and so on. 

 

He or she is also to check product quality and keep up to date records and logs. This person is a member of the HACCP team, Food Safety Committee, Food Defense Team, and Crisis Management Team.
